Instructions & Operation

Manuals and technical guidance for DOGTECH One Gen2, wolf steel and accessories.

1. Habituation & Training

1
First steps: Wearing a vest always involves some friction for the dog. We have chosen to maintain as much mobility as possible, but it is recommended to accustom the dog gradually. Let the dog wear the vest for short periods indoors or during quiet walks before the premiere hunt.
2
Movement pattern: The dog may move differently at first. This is normal and usually goes away as soon as the dog focuses on the hunting task.

2. Fit & Adjustment

Avoid chafing: An incorrectly adjusted vest can cause irritation. Make sure you can fit two fingers between the vest and your dog's back or side.

Free re-sewing: If your dog gets chafing in the groin or needs adjustment of the front Velcro strap, contact us for free re-sewing.
3
Back closure: Our vests close with Velcro on the back. Distribute the pressure evenly so that the vest sits centered and does not twist during activity.
4
Temperature control: In warmer weather, you can open up the back to create ventilation. For temperatures above +20°C, DOGTECH Wolf Mesh is recommended for optimal air flow.

Attach GPS pocket (MOLLE system)

4. Mounting accessories

!
GPS pocket (MOLLE): Attaches to the back of DOGTECH One or DOGTECH HiVis. Thread the straps alternately between vest and pocket (PALS standard) for a silent mounting. Fits most GPS collars on the market.
!
Wolf Steel Gen2: Swedish-made wolf steel made of stainless spring steel attaches directly to the PALS straps on the back of the DOGTECH One Gen2. The design protects the spine against wolf bites and eliminates rattling in the forest. Install the wolf steel before any GPS pocket.

5. Care & Maintenance

Washing instructions & Maintenance

  • Machine wash: 30 degrees on gentle setting.
  • Fabric softener: Do not use fabric softener as it impairs the material's technical protective properties.
  • Drying: Let the vest air dry. Do not use a dryer.
  • Velcro: Keep the Velcro fasteners clean of mud and needles for maximum adhesion.

Pro tip: A well-maintained vest ensures that the protection stays in place exactly as it should, even in the densest terrain.
